Are Romtec multi-purpose buildings prefabricated?
Romtec Multi-Purpose Buildings are individually designed by our Engineering team with direction by the customer to meet their specific needs for their project. The Multi-Purpose Buildings are designed to be built on the customers’ project sites, as they are permanent building structures and are not pre-fabricated or modular units. However, there are some components, trusses for example, that may come pre-assembled and ready for installation by the contractor.
Can I get custom design features for my multi-purpose building?
Yes, Romtec is a Design-Build Firm that specializes in developing unique designs to meet each customer’s project requirements. Romtec has designed several Multi-Purpose Buildings with specific design features, such as: various types of siding (stucco, rain-screen, hardi-board and batten, metal wainscoting, stone siding, among others), types of quality fixtures (exterior showers, drinking fountains), and types of roofing (including storm shelter re-enforcement). Once the customer determines which features to use on their structure, the Engineers at Romtec draw the unique design in AutoCAD. It is then submitted for the customer’s approval and the approval of the local building department.
Can I get Romtec multi-purpose building plans in my bid specification package?
Yes, Romtec helps develop bid specifications for implementation in Bid Specification Packages. Please contact the Romtec Sales Department during the specification process to ensure that the Multi-Purpose Building project advances by developing a quote for approval and construction.
Can multi-purpose buildings function as storm shelters?
Yes, Romtec can design any of its site-built, CMU block buildings, to also function as a Storm Shelter. Romtec meets the requirements for above-grade Storm Shelters and Safe Rooms by using storm-rated hardware and resilient construction materials. Multi-Purpose Buildings can also be designed for mountain applications with blizzard conditions and pro-longed freezing temperatures.
Can Romtec multi-purpose buildings have fireplaces and chimneys?
Yes, Romtec can design and supply a Multi-Purpose Building with any structural design feature requested, including but not limited to: fireplaces and chimneys. These accessories can be gas units or wood-burning units. Romtec can even work with local artisan builders to incorporate a custom fireplace feature.
Do Romtec multi-purpose buildings have retail space available for merchandise?
Yes, all of Romtec’s Multi-Purpose Buildings are designed with space in the floor plan to be used for retail, equipment rental, concessions, activities rooms, etc. Romtec’s Sales and Engineering Team work with each customer to make sure the specific project needs are met and incorporated into the unique design.
How can I make my multi-purpose building more affordable?
Romtec’s Engineering Team acknowledges the customer’s budget, as well as their project requirements, while designing each Multi-Purpose Building in order to present an affordable, functional and compliant building for the customer. Romtec can also take an existing Multi-Purpose Building design and value-engineer them to meet the customer’s budget and projected schedule.
