Healdsburg, California is a city just north of Santa Rosa along U.S. Route 101. Within Sonoma County, Healdsburg had a population of 11,340 at the 2020 census. Santa Rosa is 15 miles to the south.
The city is centrally located around a 19th century plaza. The Russian River flows through the city providing recreational opportunities. The Healdsburg Memorial Bridge crosses the Russian River, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Healdsburg is a haven for wine country where there are many vineyards as popular destinations in the region. Sonoma County is the largest wine producer in the Wine Country region with over 350 wineries.

Fitch Mountain Park and Open Space Preserve is one of the most prominent physical landmarks in northern Sonoma County. The mountain is surrounded by the City of Healdsburg and the unincorporated Fitch Mountain community. It provides a scenic backdrop for the area. Fitch Mountain can be seen from a great distance all around, including a long stretch of Highway 101.
Fitch Mountain Park and Preserve underwent a public access improvement project that featured permanent access trail improvements, a bridge system to cross the seasonal stream, low gradient trail for ADA access, information kiosks, interpretive signage, and dog park improvements to Villa Chanticleer Dog Park.
The City of Healdsburg owns the park and is responsible for its long-term care.
There are miles of trails in the park that provide great views of the area, including the Russian River.
Romtec was first contacted by Prunuske Chatham, Inc., the landscape architect on this project. M3 Integrated Services, Inc. was awarded the general contractor role for this project, including a Romtec-designed and supplied lumber pavilion. There may be future restrooms for this project, which Romtec will get the opportunity to provide.
Prunuske Chatham is a civil engineer based in Sebastopol, California with a team of scientists, environmental planners, landscape architects, engineers, construction, and administrative staff.
The lumber pavilion Romtec provided was for the Villa Chanticleer Dog Park that provides shade and picnic space next to a playground.
Nearby is the Villa Chanticleer, a wedding venue and garden. Several walking trails are accessible from the parking lot at the dog park.
The Romtec lumber pavilion for Fitch Mountain Park and the Villa Chanticleer Dog Park features Romtec wood trusses, wood columns, metal roof, glulam beams, knee braces, and stone around the timber columns.
