Romtec supplied a single ADA unisex restroom for the Skyridge North Trailhead with a mechanical room for Park City, Utah. Park City, Utah is near the Jordanelle Reservoir which is 32 miles southeast of Salt Lake City. The Wasatch Range helps frame Park City in the mountains with Deer Valley Resort and the large Park City Mountain Resort, both popular skiing destinations.
The Utah Olympic Park is just to the northwest of Park City. They hosted the 2002 winter Olympics and is now a training facility. The Park City population was 8,396 at the 2020 census and is within Wasatch County. The city is part of Wasatch Back that is a region in the Rocky Mountains within Utah.
U.S. Route 189, State Route 224, and Interstate 80 all traverse through the area of Park City.
The Main Street in town is lined with 19 century buildings that came from the silver mining boom. Since the mining industry has slowed down in the area, tourism has become the major industry through expansion of the tourist attractions and resorts in the area.
One major event that takes place in Park City is the Sundance Film Festival which is the largest independent film festival in the U.S.
The United States Ski Team home is in Park City. Also, some scenes from the movie Dumb and Dumber were filmed in the city.
Park City is surrounded with world class skiing resorts, mountains, and hiking trails including Park City Mountain and Iron Mountain.
Other attractions include the Park City Alpine Slide, Park City Museum, Jordanelle Express Gondola Deer Valley Resort, Bald Mountain, SkyRidge North Trailhead, Bonanza Flat Trailhead, Empire Pass View Area, Deer Valley East Village, Jordanelle State Park, Bloods Lake Trailhead, Scott Hill, Round Valley Quinn’s Trailhead, Park City Ice Arena, PC Hill Trailhead, Quarry Mountain Trailhead, and Park City Municipal Athletic & Recreation Center (PC MARC).
The Skyridge North Trailhead overlooks the Jordanelle Reservoir and leads to Skyridge Peak, which is 7,365 feet high. There are hiking and biking trails on the northwest end of the reservoir, such as Skyridge Peak Trail or, the Milky Way Trail, with access to the Ross Creek system. There is a trail connection to the Greater Park City Area Trail and access to the Jordanelle Perimeter Trail.
There are 5 miles of paved trails and 7 miles of soft surface trails at the Skyridge North Trailhead.
Romtec provided the design and supply of a single ADA unisex restroom for the Skyridge North Trailhead with a mechanical room.
Featured on the restroom building is a 2834 obscured (tempered) fixed window and a single slope metal roof. Also included is board and batten siding over CMU smooth face concrete block wall, gable end fiber cement board and batten siding, ERV intake air vent, stone siding, and wall light.
The restroom services the trailhead while seamlessly blending in with the beautiful surrounding environment. There is a parking lot right next to the road that leads to the trailhead connecting it with the nearby Park City.
Skyridge Development, LLC is the company creating a destination resort with housing, a golf course, an equestrian center, and a community center near the Skyridge North Trailhead. We worked with Skyridge Development as the owner of this restroom building at the trailhead.
Romtec was brought into this project by Jack Johnson Consulting. We were able to make a quick turnaround happen with this project as they needed to move forward quickly. Jack Johnson Consulting provides planning, engineering, and architecture services for world class resorts and residential developments based in Park City, Utah.
Skyridge who installed the building themselves as they are developing the residential housing development and resort, was pleased with the Romtec product and finished restroom building.
