Lake Havasu City is on the western edge of Arizona near the California border where the Colorado River and Lake Havasu divide the two states.
Lake Havasu City is home to the London Bridge which was relocated from England and now separates the mainland from marinas and an island. The Mojave National Preserve, Sheephole Valley Wilderness, and Joshua Tree National Park are just some of the major attractions in the region within driving distance of Lake Havasu.
Lake Havasu is popular for water sports, boating, beaches, camping, and various parks. There are many deserts and hiking trails that Lake Havasu City serves as the base camp. There is also the Lake Havasu Museum of History and Lake Havasu State Park. The city in Mohave County started as an Army Air Corps rest camp during World War II.
The Bureau of Land Management Lake Havasu Field Office brought Romtec in to provide a restroom at Lake Havasu for all the visitors enjoying various water activities.
Romtec designed the restroom with a custom steel beam pergola, red metal roof with skylights, and CMU concrete block wall siding that blends in with the surrounding Arizona desert landscape.
This concrete building includes untreated steel beams, red roofing and vents, and a red concrete walk to recall the colors of the arid landscape surrounding this reservoir.
The Parker Dam is 30 minutes south of Lake Havasu City. Finished in 1938, the dam created this large reservoir that attracts water skiers, fishermen, and avid spring breakers. The Parker Dam reaches 235′ below the riverbed proving it to be the deepest dam in the world.
