The Channahon Parks District in Channahon, Illinois was looking to add a log pavilion at one of the park district’s most scenic locations, Arroyo Trails Park.
Channahon Parks District wanted the pavilion to match the log theme they have throughout the area. Romtec designed a beautiful log pavilion that fit the needs of the park and gives the community an appealing place to gather outdoors.
Arroyo Trails Park is 76.8-acre recreation development with trails, fitness stations, an outdoor amphitheater, playground area, and a council ring with benches. The Park is funded by the People for Channahon Parks Foundation and managed by the Channahon Parks District.
The log pavilion is an amazing addition to the park as it provides a rest area for picnics and a visiting area for the community to get out of the elements. The continued development of the park brings more opportunity and places for the community in Channahon to enjoy this amazing recreation area.
The pavilion features a metal roof, log beams, and log columns with an open-air concept set on top of a concrete foundation.
Hitchcock Design Group connected Romtec with the Channahon Parks District to begin the process of designing a pavilion that matched the aesthetic log theme of the rest of the park. The Arroyo Trails Park is also planning on adding restrooms to the park.
Integral Construction, Inc. was the contractor who installed the pavilion on behalf of the Channahon Parks District as they looked for a quick turnaround on the project to have it in place for the summer. Romtec helped expedite the process to get the project completed as soon as possible.
