Romtec designed and supplied a prefabricated vault restroom at the Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge near Cambridge, Maryland. The refuge is an ecologically important area that includes forest, marsh, and shallow water habitats. A large diversity of plant and animal life are thriving in the refuge and it has been recognized as having one of the highest concentrations of nesting bald eagles on the Atlantic Coast. The new waterless restroom was selected due to the lack of water and power utilities on-site and will match an existing prefabricated vault already installed at the Refuge. The United States Fish & Wildlife are the responsible stewards over the refuge and have been recognized for their conservation efforts. Romtec worked alongside The Friends of Blackwater, a local nonprofit group, on this project to help meet their vision of making Blackwater into one of the best wildlife refuges in America.
