Milwaukie, Oregon sits just to the south of Portland mainly in Clackamas County but with a portion in Multnomah County.
On the western edge of Milwaukie is the Willamette River, where it was founded in 1847. The City of Milwaukie is a suburb of Portland and sits adjacent to Clackamas and Oak Grove, both unincorporated areas.
The “Bing” cherry originated in Milwaukie and is the most produced variety of sweet cherry in the United States.
Milwaukie is home to Dark Horse Comics, Bob’s Red Mill, Elk Rock Island, Kellogg Creek, Milwaukie Bay Park, and Minthorn North Natural Area. Other local attractions include the Clackamas Town Center and the North Clackamas Aquatic Park.
The North Clackamas Park Complex opened in 2006 and was the first sports complex designed and built by the North Clackamas Parks District.
The sporting complex is home to four natural grass softball/baseball fields. The complex has Musco field lights, a full-service concession stand, shaded spectator seating, covered dugouts, wireless scoreboards, permanent restrooms, and ample parking. The North Clackamas Park Complex is ideal for hosting various seasonal youth tournaments.
Romtec provided this community park with four total structures: a restroom facility, a restroom/concession building, and two pavilions.
Surrounded by 4 baseball fields, the restroom concession building offers nearby amenities to park patrons watching youth games, and the smaller of the two pavilions provides a shaded spot to eat or relax.
A two-room restroom and a larger pavilion are located near the parking lot. All the pavilions and covered entrances have stone wrapped post bases, adding style and extra room to set a beverage.
All the structures feature a green metal roof, while the restrooms/concessions buildings have a CMU concrete block wall siding matching the aesthetic of the stone wrapped post bases of the pavilions.
The North Clackamas Park Complex also has gardens, walking trails, a playground, and a dog park.
Romtec designed all four structures to have a matching aesthetic that fit the needs of the North Clackamas Parks District.
