Bellevue, Washington is a city sitting on the eastern edge of Lake Washington with Lake Sammamish just to the east.
Bellevue sits just across from Seattle from Lake Washington in the metropolitan area in the beautiful Pacific Northwest featuring many parks and the Bellevue Botanical Garden.
There is also Glendale Country Club, the Bellevue Arts Museum, KidsQuest Children’s Museum, along with a couple of small lakes.
Kelsey Creek Farm is a community park owned by the City of Bellevue Parks and Community Services that features 150 acres of forest, meadows, and wetlands. The farm has two historic barns which are listed on the state heritage barn registry and were once home to Twin Valley Dairy.
The Eastside Heritage Center hosts programs for visitors along with log cabin programs, summer kid camps, and other farm themed programs where visitors can meet animals and learn about garden to table nutrition.
Kelsey Creek Farm was awarded a grant by the Neighborhood Enhancement Program to install a bee observation hive. The park remodeled an old chicken coop that houses the observation hive.
Romtec provided a shelter that was installed at Kelsey Creek Farm for a demonstration class next to the demonstration beehive.
This was a very quick turnaround from contact to purchase, that Romtec was able to accommodate for the City of Bellevue who is the owner of this project.
The shelter features wood columns, composite roofing, cedar frame sign board, and resawn timber rafters.
This is a KCDA purchase order which is King County Directors Association; a purchasing cooperative that provides centralized procurement services to member school districts and public agencies.
Romtec was happy to provide a shelter for this historic farm in Bellevue along with supporting the educational programs and new observation beehive.
