Lake Sonoma is in beautiful central California wine country near Geyserville and Cloverdale along US route 101.
The lake is a major reservoir in Sonoma County which came from the construction of the Warm Springs Dam. It provides water for county development along with a variety of recreation opportunities including 50 miles of shoreline for boating, swimming, fishing, hiking, and camping.
Lake Sonoma is 45 minutes from Santa Rosa and about two hours from San Francisco.
ROD Construction reached out to Romtec about a project they were working on for the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) San Francisco District. Romtec provided the design and supply of a restroom building at the Liberty Glenn campground.
The Warm Springs Dam was built by the USACE and was completed in 1982, standing 319 feet high aiding in flood control. Additionally, a hydroelectric plant creates electricity from water released further downstream.
The USACE owns and operates Liberty Glen Drive-In Campground at Lake Sonoma which is where the restroom was built.
Liberty Glen Campground provides 96 campsites for RV’s and tent campers, along with a playground, showers, and various trails. There are 106 primitive campsites accessible by boat or trail only with a fire ring or picnic tables at Lake Sonoma.
Romtec provided a 1016 Aspen compact double vault waterless restroom. The restroom features CMU split face concrete block siding, gable windows, poly vent pipe, two unisex units, and an arch comp roof.
ROD Construction installed the building on behalf of USACE. ROD Construction provides construction services in the central California region.
Romtec is proud to be a part of this restroom project as Lake Sonoma and the Liberty Glenn Campground provides amazing recreation activities and views of the coastal range mountains.
