Forest Grove is a city to the west of Portland, Oregon by about 25 miles. The City of Forest Grove is in Washington County and was the first city in the county when it was incorporated in 1872.
State Route 8 and State Route 47 run through Forest Grove which sits just directly to the west of Hillsboro. Pacific University has long called Forest Grove home with one of the campus buildings listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Forest Grove’s Thatcher City Park is a beautiful park that is home to baseball fields, dog parks, and trails through thick forest.
With all this surrounding activity, Romtec supplied a concession structure for visitors to relax and seek shade. The building includes a large roof extension for picnic tables and a concession window.
The restroom and concession building has two single user unisex restrooms, a mechanical room, concession room, and an electrical room. The concession room has a roll up window and concession counter to service various events held at the park.
The exterior of the building was designed to complement the nearby forest with board and batten siding and stone wainscot. Additionally, the building has a metal roof, wood truss roof extension, Lexan windows, skylights, and metal vents.
This beautiful restroom and concession building was for the City of Forest Grove who owns and operates Thatcher Park. This building provides a space for the community to enjoy some shade and space for picnics, parties, or other get togethers. Also, the concession room and window allow tournaments or other community events to be held there with a space to provide refreshments.
