The Flight 93 National Memorial near Shanksville, Pennsylvania needed a restroom building to be installed at the park. The National Park Service who operates Flight 93 National Memorial in Shanksville, Pennsylvania selected Romtec for the project.
The Memorial includes striking design features such as black slate walkways with slanting walls, a polished white granite memorial wall, wildflowers, and sugar maples. The restroom buildings needed to blend with these elements of the Flight 93 Memorial while remaining understated.
A five-room waterless restroom building, and a separate single-user restroom were designed with cedar slat siding treated with a semi-transparent gray stain. Each building also included a timber post-covered porch and gray metal roofing. The final designs are both beautiful and modest.
Romtec was honored to be part of the National Memorial for Flight 93.
