The Cottrell Farm homestead is a historic landmark built in 1831 and still stands today. Located in Old Bridge, the farm was a 150-acre apple orchard owned by the Cottrell family. The family created the New Jersey Apple Growers Inc. The property includes a distillery, where they press apples for cider, instead of throwing out unusable apples. They sell cider under the Browntown name.
The farm is being utilized as passive recreation with many buildings on site, including a home, barn, stone garage, CMU shop garage, and pool cottage. All buildings are rentable for event space. The farm also has walking trails and large open spaces to go along with a Phase 2 of improvements.

Old Bridge Township is a first-time owner of a Romtec restroom that manages Cottrell Farm Park. Middlesex County owns Cottrell Farm Park.
French & Parrello Associates contacted Romtec to produce the bid drawings and specifications for a custom multi-user restroom with family restrooms and splash pad equipment room.
This project is for Phase 2 of the Cottrell Farm Park Improvements and includes the addition of a children’s playground area, splash pad, restrooms, and picnic area. The project was put out to public bid, and Precise Construction was the successful bidder who built the structure for Old Bridge Township.
The Romtec restroom building features multiuser restrooms, a family room, a mechanical room, and a splash pad equipment room. The restroom and splash pad building has an architectural composition roof, fiber cement board and batten siding over CMU concrete block wall, stone veneer, and resawn timber truss & columns overhanging to come together and make an attractive structure that fits within the farm’s surroundings.
Old Bridge Township has been great to work with and is very happy with the Romtec restroom at Cottrell Farm Park in Old Bridge, New Jersey.
