The Martin Tudor Splash Park owned by the City of Fontana was due for a remodel and as part of the remodel, they decided to install a Romtec two-unit restroom building to make it a family-friendly place to recreate in Fontana, California.
The park update gives the Fontana community a place to cool off in the hot summer months as the Splash Park features two slides and an aquatic play area with several water features for kids of all ages.
The Splash Park is located inside Martin Tudor Jurupa Hills Park which features ball fields, a playground, barbecue areas, several picnic shelters, picnic tables, trails, horseshoes and a volleyball area.
The Romtec restroom is a 2024 Sierra II Compact which also includes a mechanical room. It features a delta rib metal roofing, wire weave mesh vents, two ADA restrooms and a concrete block exterior.
Hamel Contracting, Inc. was the general contractor of the project while BLMA, Inc. was the installing contractor of the Romtec restroom on behalf of the City of Fontana for the project.
The Splash Park is an example of a location that could use a nearby restroom building specifically for a pool or aquatic center for accessibility.
