The City of Ankeny Parks & Recreation are a first-time customer of Romtec for the project at Midway Park. We worked with the city on the desired building design and turnkey project. Midway Park is a new park, opening in the spring of 2024, which will feature playground equipment, a restroom and shelter, greenspace, a trail loop, natural prairie area, and a parking lot on SW Des Moines Street in a residential neighborhood.
The Romtec restroom building features an ADA unisex single user restroom, a mechanical room, and a covered shelter area with a single slope roof. The restroom and shelter building feature a metal roof, fiber cement lap siding over CMU smooth face concrete block wall, stone veneer, glulam rafters and beams, glulam columns, and a gable vent.
This new restroom building fits seamlessly into Midway Park, in a residential neighborhood, that features open space and a playground. Romtec worked with the city to create a design that fits the needs of the park and fits within the setting of a beautiful residential neighborhood.
Romtec elected to go with Burkett Construction LLC to provide turnkey services as they have a good reputation, past installation history with Romtec, and a competitive installation price. Burkett Construction completed installation on the Deer Ridge West Park and Murphy Park projects with Romtec. Romtec is also working with the City of Ankeny on a Prairie Trail Sports Complex building.
We were proud to provide this restroom and shelter building at Midway Park for the City of Ankeny, and this residential neighborhood. This park adds value to the neighborhood and provides a place for recreational activities for residents in the area.
