In Northern Washington state, the scenic mountains are the highlight of this region that is close to the Canadian border.
The Cascade Mountain Range that reaches from Canada to northern California runs through northern Washington presenting a beautiful scene.
The North Cascades National Park is over 500,000 acres of mountains, lakes, glaciers, and streams in a vast wilderness. The North Cascades Highway provides access to the park passing viewpoints and trails like the Thunder Creek Trail. The North Cascades National Park is about three hours from Seattle and reaches southeast to the Lake Chelan National Recreation Area.
This national park is a treasure in Washington and provides camping, boating, hiking, backcountry backpacking, guided tours, fishing, and so much more. The park is home to grizzly bears, gray wolves, and a large variety of bird species.
Ross Lake is a nearby national recreation area where boaters and visitors enjoy various water recreation activities. There is Diablo Lake and Gorge Lake that run into the Skagit River which runs adjacent to the North Cascades Highway.
The National Park Service maintains dozens of trails in this park, and many of the trails are accessible to persons in wheelchairs.
Romtec designed two ADA restroom buildings to match the natural beauty of the Cascade Mountain Range and to offer shelter from the sometimes-difficult weather. These two vault restrooms might even be beyond rural as they sit with the mountains as the backdrop.
The Romtec restrooms feature a roof extension overhang to cover the entrances to the building, cedar shake roofing, cedar board & batten siding, vent pipe, translucent Lexan window, wood posts, and rock veneer on the lower part of the siding.
These vault restrooms are a great asset for trailheads, to provide a restroom in a remote area that doesn’t require water or power to operate them. The construction of these vault restrooms is very limited in its disruption of the surrounding area, leaving the environment undisturbed.
Romtec designs, supplies, and builds restroom buildings for national parks, trailheads, and campgrounds all over the country. To get started on your next project, contact us today at Romtec.
