Redmond, Oregon is a unique city in Deschutes County which is in Central Oregon near the Cascade Mountain range in the desert region.
Redmond along with Bend, which is 15 miles to the south, are both growing in population as these popular locations are great for recreation, vacationing, retirement, and the year-round livability.
With the nearby mountains like Mt. Bachelor, the Three Sisters, along with many lakes, the Deschutes River, golf courses, and Smith Rock State Park, the area is ripe for recreation activities.
Sunriver Resort and Eagle Crest Resort are popular vacation destinations for tourists or Oregonians looking to travel the state.
Quartz Neighborhood Park located in Redmond is a 6.5-acre community park with a playground, pavilion, picnic tables, restrooms, walking trails, parking lot, skate dots, along with bocce ball, open spaces, and horseshoe pits.
The City of Redmond, as the owner, developed Quartz Park because they wanted to provide a building that could be open year-round in Central Oregon which included the restroom and pavilion that Romtec designed and supplied.
SZABO Landscape Architecture, LLC was the landscape architect that Romtec worked with on the design proposals. SZABO is a full-service landscape architect design firm based out of Bend, Oregon.
The City of Redmond purchased the restroom and pavilion structures supply from Romtec through Sourcewell and put the installation out to bid.
Keeton-King Construction Inc. was the general contractor who installed the restroom and pavilion on behalf of the City of Redmond. Keeton-King is a contractor providing construction services out of Sisters, Oregon.
Romtec provided a 2043 SIERRA Quattro with a mechanical room that features four unisex ADA restrooms, metal roof, cedar board & batten siding, along with ledgestone siding, and solar tubes in the roof.
Romtec also provided a 3011 Wood pavilion for Quartz Park which features wood columns, metal roofing, timber knee brace, and a CMU column base that is covered with ledgestone rock.
The new Quartz Park is a great addition to the Redmond community and Romtec was happy to be a part of this project that provides an outdoor space to enjoy recreational opportunities.
