Interstate 40 in New Mexico is a major highway that passes east and west through the state into Arizona and Texas. This major interstate highway passes through the major city Albuquerque and continues to Santa Rosa to the east.
Interstate 40 leads to Amarillo, Texas and eventually to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Albuquerque is the biggest city in New Mexico and is the high desert. There are many attractions in this area including the Albuquerque Museum, Sandia Peak Tramway, Petroglyph National Monument, and the ABQ BioPark Zoo.
In between these two locations along I-40 between Albuquerque and Santa Rosa, New Mexico sits this adobe themed rest area. There are many reasons why a specific “look” is needed for a building, but it is not always easy to get an affordable building with the necessary aesthetic options. With Romtec, matching themes and architectural aesthetics is our specialty.
Romtec designed this New Mexico Department of Transportation restroom with red stucco that matched nearby adobe structures and stone wainscoting that matched planters and path walls.
The stucco exterior is a terrific option for restrooms and other buildings because it is easy to maintain, adds style, the material resists severe weather and moisture incursion, and it also resists large temperature changes.
This public restroom also included tile floors that looked like paving stones to maintain the Southwestern motif. This regional restroom building provides tourists with continued exposure to the charm of the American Southwest.
The high desert in New Mexico can create some extreme heat and therefore stucco was a great option for this rest area restroom building. Romtec worked to create a restroom that would fit into the aesthetic of this location and match other similar buildings but also showcased the southwest features of this New Mexico rest stop.
Creating an inviting restroom building that highlights the area and is easily maintainable are features of a Romtec restroom building. If you have a need for a new rest area restroom, contact us today!
