Romtec recently designed, supplied, and installed a Shower and Restroom building for the Ambrose Recreation & Park District. This project was complete to re-open the Ambrose Pool, which was a nearly 60-years-old treasured community pool when it closed in 2009. Budget issues postponed the opening of this park, but community members and the Ambrose Recreation & Park District fought hard to create and implement a cost-effective plan to reopen the Ambrose Aquatic Center. The single pitch Shower and Restroom building was designed to include numerous functions in one affordable building and match the existing building’s exterior with colored CMU block. The dedicated lifeguard room has access to the storage and mechanical room while having a ticket window to monitor the entrances/collect fees for the pool. The renovated pool is a smaller design, and it houses its equipment in a control building adjacent to the Romtec Shower and Restroom building. This plan cost only 1.88 million dollars compared to a 2.3 million estimate that was predicted in 2015. The pool officially opened on June 8th, 2017 and is a great addition to the Ambrose Recreation & Park District.
