Romtec was pleased to provide the design, supply, and construction of a two-unit turnkey restroom building for a neighborhood walking park in Dundee, Oregon for the City of Dundee in partnership with SERA Architects. Dundee, Oregon is located just 30 miles southwest of Portland in Yamhill County.

The city gets its name from Dundee, Scotland where William Reed was born. He came to Oregon in 1874 to create the Oregon Railway, which included many extensions throughout the Willamette Valley.
Dundee had a population of 3,238 at the 2020 census, and it is a great wine destination in the Willamette Valley. The city has about 37 world-class wineries, making it a definite stop along any wine tour.
Some of the attractions in Dundee include Falcon Crest Park, Dundee Scenic Overlook, Dundee Billick Park, Worden Hill Farm, Cameron Winery, Bergström Wines Tasting Room, Furioso Vineyards, Dusky Goose Winery, Cramoisi Vineyard, the Four Graces Winery, Trellis, Dobbes Family Winery, and Harvey Creek Trail.
SERA Architects contacted Romtec and referred the City of Dundee to Romtec for this project. SERA Architects also helped the city with the site plans for their grant application.
Romtec provided the new turnkey restroom building for the recently developed Alder Street Park. The City of Dundee purchased the turnkey restroom building directly from Romtec through Sourcewell.
During the preliminary design development, the city liked the look of the completed Memorial Park buildings in Wilsonville, Oregon, and chose to match the exterior architectural style for their project at Alder Street Park. Romtec provided a two-unit unisex turnkey restroom building with a mechanical room.
At Alder Street Park in Dundee, Oregon, the city was awarded a grant from the Oregon Tourism Committee to install landscaping, a perimeter crushed rock path, and seating at a walking area across the street from The Dundee, a four-star hotel.
The turnkey restroom features metal roofing, fiber cement board and batten siding over CMU concrete block wall, stone veneer, cedar fascia, solar tubes, mechanical system exhaust, and a roof overhang.
A requirement from the park grant was that every material be a BuyAmerica product, so we had to change the order for the stone, cover base, and door materials. This grant application also pushed out the construction schedule by a few months, but we were able to accommodate for it.
