Romtec was proud to provide the design and supply of this new ADA multiuser restroom building for Edendale Park in San Lorenzo in partnership with the Hayward Area Recreation and Park District. Hayward, California is a city in Alameda County in the East Bay region of the San Francisco Bay Area.
The city had a population of 162,954 as of the 2020 census. Hayward is the sixth largest city in the Bay Area, and the third largest in Alameda County.
Hayward is on the eastern shore of the San Francisco Bay. Interstate 880, State Route 238, and the San Mateo-Hayward Bridge (State Route 92) run through the area.
Attractions in Hayward include the East Bay Regional Park District, Coyote Hills Regional Park, Anthony Chabot Regional Park, Lake Chabot, Don Edwards San Francisco Bay National Wildlife Refuge, Eden Landing Ecological Reserve, Alden E. Oliver Sports Park, Hayward Regional Shoreline, Garin Regional Park, Mount Eden Park, Tennyson Park, and Southland Park.
San Lorenzo is a census designated place and unincorporated community sitting directly north of Hayward.
Edendale Park is a park in San Lorenzo that has a playground, dog park, paved walkways, grass area, and ADA multiuser restrooms all located next to Edendale Middle School.
This project included the demolition of an existing restroom and installation of a new public restroom building with ADA access improvements that Romtec designed and supplied.
The renovation was overseen by the Hayward Area Recreation and Park District who operates Edendale Park.

This ADA multiuser restroom building for Edendale Park was designed to match the Memorial Park restroom buildings that were built at the same time.
The ADA multiuser restroom building at Edendale Park features ADA multiuser restrooms, a mechanical room, privacy block wall, CMU split face block wall, TFR-36 metal roofing, gable wire weave mesh vent, ridge wire weave mesh vent, glulam beams, skylights, and drinking fountains.
The skylights provide natural lighting inside of the ADA multiuser restrooms while a privacy block wall, which allows users to enter and exit with the wall blocking the view inside for added privacy.
