Summit Park Pavilion in Taylorsville, Utah
Taylorsville is a growing city in central Salt Lake County, located just southwest of downtown Salt Lake City. Taylorsville is known for its strong focus on neighborhood livability, parks, and community amenities. The city serves a diverse population and continues to invest in public spaces that support outdoor recreation, family activities, and community events.
Tank Park is a neighborhood park within Taylorsville that serves as a gathering place for families, community events, and outdoor recreation. As park use increased, the city identified a need for a covered pavilion and a nearby restroom facility to better support visitors.
The addition of these structures enhances the overall park experience by providing shade, shelter, and essential amenities, making Tank Park more functional for daily use and special events alike.
Architecturally Aligned Pavilion and Restroom for Public Use
This project includes two complementary park buildings thoughtfully aligned with the park & community:
- A 40’ x 32’ single-slope outdoor pavilion designed for flexible community use
- A separate public restroom building designed for durability, accessibility, and ease of maintenance
Both buildings were custom designed to align with the City of Taylorsville’s standards and the park’s layout. The pavilion offers a welcoming covered space for gatherings, while the restroom provides convenient access without disrupting the open feel of the park.
Custom Design and Durable Materials
Romtec provided full design and building packages for both the pavilion and restroom, focusing on long-lasting materials well suited for public park environments.

Adapting to City Requirements
During the design phase, the City of Taylorsville refined how the restroom should serve park visitors. Romtec worked closely with the City and design team to adjust the layout so it better matched updated preferences and supported a comfortable, accessible experience for the community.
As the design moved forward, Romtec also coordinated with the project team to incorporate owner-provided roofing and electrical elements. Through clear communication and detailed drawings, all components were carefully aligned to keep the project organized and on track.
This flexible, team-focused approach allowed Romtec to meet the City’s needs while delivering a custom restroom building that supports both daily park use and long-term community goals.
