In the beautiful northwest City of Eugene, Oregon, trees, parks, rivers and nature abound.
Eugene is home to the University of Oregon, along with the Willamette River which runs through the city making it a great place for many local breweries. Eugene is also a great place for arts and culture, and the Fifth Street Public Market, and Alton Baker Park provides extensive trails.
Just to the east of Eugene is the McKenzie River where the Trail Bridge Reservoir along with other runoff sources creates the river. Trail Bridge Reservoir is located about an hour east of Eugene.
The Trail Bridge Reservoir is a popular place in the summer for camping, fishing, hiking, boating, and swimming. The reservoir, when it’s at its capacity, covers 120 acres.
Mackay Sposito reached out for this project with the USDA Forest Service – McKenzie River Ranger Station and Eugene Water and Electric Board (EWEB) for a log pavilion and log kiosk. Mackay Sposito provides civil engineering services based out of Vancouver, Washington.
Romtec worked to define a fire-rated log pavilion and non-fire-rated kiosks for the building. EWEB was the direct customer on the project, but Mackay Sposito was the one who coordinated the designs.
Wildish Construction Company was the installing contractor on behalf of the USDA Forest Service who is the end owner of this project. Wildish is a family-owned general contractor based in Eugene that has been around since 1935.
Romtec provided the design and supply of a Fire Rated Log Pavilion, two log kiosks, and a bulletin board.
The fire rated log pavilion features cedar shake roofing, log truss, log beam, log knee brace, and a log column that match the other kiosks and bulletin board.
Romtec was proud to be a part of the Trail Bridge Reservoir project providing the design and supply of the fire rated log pavilion, kiosks, and a bulletin board for this amazing place.
