Seneca Marina Point Campground went through a redevelopment phase to enhance the visitor experience throughout the park in Senecaville, Ohio.
The owner of the project, Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District, wanted to develop two Romtec multi-user restroom buildings with showers at the Seneca Marina location in Ohio.
Senecaville Dam was built in 1937 by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers as part of the Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District’s flood control and water conservation project. Seneca Lake is one of the 10 flood control reservoirs within the Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District. It is Ohio’s 3rd largest inland waterway.
Senecaville is an hour and half away from Columbus, Ohio which is the state capital and most populous city in the state. The Pro Football Hall of Fame is not far from Senecaville in Canton, Ohio which lies about an hour north. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is located in Cleveland, Ohio next to Lake Erie which is the fourth largest lake of the five Great Lakes.
The reservoir presently forms a conservation pool for flood control, recreation, fish and wildlife, and for the maintenance of normal downstream flows during dry periods.
Key features on the Model 2061 restroom building were a metal roof, Ledgestone over 8″ x 16″ CMU concrete block wall, lap siding, block window 24″ x 16″ with privacy glass, drinking fountains, two restrooms, a mechanical room, and roof extension.
The features of the custom restroom/shower building were a metal roof, dry stacked stone, lap siding, a roof extension, multi-user restrooms, a family shower room, a laundry room, and four showers including one ADA shower.
The Seneca Marina restrooms were purchased through the BuyBoard National Purchasing Cooperative which streamlines (meets bidding requirements for) the procurement process for governments and organizations.
MS Consultants of Akron, Ohio was the project driver as the civil engineer working with Romtec on the design of the buildings.
Tucson, Inc. was the general contractor of the project and Brett Sulzener Builders was the installation contractor who displayed great craftsmanship throughout the project.
Romtec’s ability to provide high-level customer service as well as construction management throughout the project allowed the owners and contractor the opportunity to finish the project ahead of schedule.
