White Bear Township is located about 20 miles northeast of Minneapolis in Minnesota which is known for its over 10,000 lakes.
The town is named after it’s White Bear Lake which is one of the biggest lakes in the Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan area.
Minneapolis and St. Paul, which is the state capital, are known as the twin cities that are divided by the Mississippi River and known for their many lakes and parks.
There are several lakes in the White Bear Township including Bald Eagle Lake, Otter Lake, and Tamarack Nature Center.
Another local park is Polar Lakes Park which features an amphitheater stage, trails, baseball fields, parking lot, an open field, a picnic shelter, a playground, a soccer field, and restrooms.
White Bear Township wanted the addition of two new restrooms at Polar Lakes Park, both with upgraded siding and vandal-resistant options for a seasonal facility.
The first restroom is a Romtec model 2090M that features two unisex single-user restrooms along with multi-user restrooms for both men and women, and a mechanical room.
The second custom sierra restroom also has two unisex single-user restrooms along with multi-user restroom areas with a standing seam metal roof, brick veneer, a resawn timber truss & column roof extension, and lap siding.
Dering Pierson Group was the general contractor for these restroom projects and installed the buildings for White Bear Township. Dering is a general contractor based out of Rogers, Minnesota, that performs with a high level of craftmanship and quality.
TKDA was the landscape architect on the project. TKDA has offices across the country while providing innovative architecture and design services.
The addition of the two new restrooms adds capacity to the park to have larger sporting events or community gatherings. The matching exterior of both buildings adds a beautiful aesthetic continuity to the park’s restroom facilities.
