The Project
In the City of Ojai, California big plans have been successfully achieved. Over the last years, the City of Ojai has wanted to rebuild the existing skate park near Chaparral High School for the community’s youth. After many meetings and the youth getting involved with the votes, it was decided that the funding would be provided to build a brand new skate park. OUSD, the owners of the property where the permanent skate park will be built, requested that two things be included in the plans a restroom facility and a fence. The restroom needed to be easy to maintain, waterless, and fit in with the regional theme and of course the landscape of the new park.
The Solution
Romtec provided this skate park with a stylish single-user restroom building that has a bi-level water fountains to help keep young skaters refreshed and hydrated. This restroom building also had clay tile roofing installed to keep the interior protected from the scorching heat and to match the regional themes. The new waterless restroom facility was finished with beautiful stucco siding which made the building fit right in with its new surroundings. The city of Ojai recently converted this building from a waterless facility to a plumbed building, keeping a waterless urinal, with up to date stainless steel features. The stainless steel features will withstand vandalism if it were to ever occur. Having a plumbed building with new features better fits the needs of its abundance of visitors.
