Edendale Park Restroom

San Lorenzo is a census designated place and unincorporated community sitting directly north of Hayward.

Edendale Park is a park in San Lorenzo that has a playground, dog park, paved walkways, grass area, and ADA multiuser restrooms all located next to Edendale Middle School.

This project included the demolition of an existing restroom and installation of a new public restroom building with ADA access improvements that Romtec designed and supplied.

The renovation was overseen by the Hayward Area Recreation and Park District who operates Edendale Park.

Romtec has worked with the Hayward Area Recreation and Park District before, including the Bret Harte Park restroom renovation, East Avenue Park Restroom, Waterfront ParkSunset Futsal Court, and Memorial Park.

This ADA multiuser restroom building for Edendale Park was designed to match the Memorial Park restroom buildings that were built at the same time.

Edendale Park Restroom

The ADA multiuser restroom building at Edendale Park features ADA multiuser restrooms, a mechanical room, privacy block wall, CMU split face block wall, TFR-36 metal roofing, gable wire weave mesh vent, ridge wire weave mesh vent, glulam beams, skylights, and drinking fountains.

The skylights provide natural lighting inside of the ADA multiuser restrooms while a privacy block wall, which allows users to enter and exit with the wall blocking the view inside for added privacy.

Romtec was proud to provide the design and supply of this new ADA multiuser restroom building for Edendale Park in San Lorenzo in partnership with the Hayward Area Recreation and Park District.

At Romtec we design, supply, and build restroom buildings that meet the needs of a park, while also being able to match buildings or other restrooms, like we did for both Edendale and Memorial Park.

The Hayward Area Recreation and Park district was pleased with the result as it helps streamline maintenance and keeps the same aesthetic throughout the park system.

Romtec designs restrooms across the country to meet the needs of each specific park, trailhead, or recreational area. Our team works with the municipality, owner, architects, engineers, general contractors and others to make sure any building fits the exact needs.

We can design a one-of-a-kind restroom that includes showers, multiuser restrooms, concessionsstorage rooms, mechanical rooms, splash pad equipment, all within your budget and to meet your timeline.

I have to mention that aside from the products Romtec supplies and the workmanship of the subcontractors (Ken and crew), I’m also very impressed with your responsiveness to issues – you’re a far cry from the usual taillight warranty.

You get what you pay for. Romtec provided the most perfect, seamless, flawless project I could have imagined. I would use Romtec 100 times over and will not consider any other options moving forward. You were able to beat my original budget and expectations. Everyone involved was great from sales to construction management, to the construction team themselves.

If I were to do this again, I would no doubt hire Romtec and its subcontractors to do the installation. Hindsight is always 20/20 and I learned a valuable lesson that I will hire Romtec’s certified installers to do the construction.

I would be remiss if I didn’t mention Dan Keagy (Romtec’s assistant construction manager). He in my opinion went above and beyond to solve our problems and problems that were not necessarily his or Romtec’s to solve. He is a great guy and great resource for Romtec. Overall, the biggest thing to me was the service after the sale. Romtec didn’t just make the sale and move on, but they supported us through a very long and arduous construction process.

Romtec was phenomenal when it came to service after the sale. They were available anytime there were questions. In addition, there were some issues with missing materials. Even though it was not Romtec’s fault for the missing materials, the were more than willing to send us the missing materials to get the project done. Romtec even sent out a representative to tour the site to give firsthand recommendations on how to proceed.
