The Project
The Lake Marie parking area, near Laramie Wyoming needed a restroom facility. Protecting the integrity of the lake is vital, but water, sewer, and electric are not available in remote areas. The customer called for a waterless facility, but with a custom stone exterior to blend in with the rugged mountain area and rustic site. They came to Romtec, for a custom designed building that would meet all its needs. They wanted a system that was time-tested to withstand heavy use, yet was environmentally sustainable and friendly. They needed all this, but with an exterior design that was unique to their site and conditions. They needed a lighting system for potential nighttime use.
The Solution
Romtec designed an Aspen Double, SST waterless restroom building with side-by-side individual user rooms. They used a stone veneer on the exterior. Romtec used their proven SST technology with their patented polyethylene tanks that resist odor absorption and prevent inflow and infiltration from ground water and runoff. A solar panel was installed that powered a lighting system for nighttime use of the restroom. Romtec provided the rustic feel the customer was looking for with a time-proven waterless restroom system that would withstand the rigors of regular use. This exceptional site and the custom designed restroom exude an atmosphere sought after by those seeking to “get away from it all” and are seeking out the beauty, peacefulness, and many recreation opportunities afforded by the lake, but still do not want to completely do without modern conveniences. With Romtec’s unique design, they can have both. And the customer got an eco-friendly, sustainable building that is easy to maintain.
