The Project
Arrow Creek, as a private golf course and country club, had very specific requirements for their restroom structures. The look, feel, and functionality of their restrooms had to go a step above most facilities. The owners required a small restroom with a high-end feel that would also blend in with the Nevada desert surrounding the course. The golf club was really asking Romtec to design a restroom facility for them that would provide the necessary amenities while upholding the standards of the private club. This meant both the interior and exterior would be functional yet attractive, and would stand up to not only regular use and cleaning but also the extreme elements of heat and wind, and the discerning eye of their selective clientele.
The Solution
Romtec designed them a simple yet elegant solution. A Sierra II, consisting of two single user rooms, one each for the men and women utilizing the golf course. Each had commercial fixtures but using china for that “home-like” feel. The real customization came on the outside of the structure. In keeping with desert surroundings, Romtec went with a combination of Saddleback rustic ledge and Meseta field ledge stone wainscoting with matching watertable. Above that, the walls were treated with a sand-colored stucco. The roofing was a custom lightweight concrete tile in a light teal color. The entire affect beckons golfers for a much-needed respite without dominating the landscape and meets the needs and atmosphere of the private club.
