Kent, Connecticut Recovery Center Pavilion
For this recovery center pavilion project, Romtec designed and supplied a custom log pavilion for the High Watch Recover Center campus in Kent, Connecticut. We worked to provide a unique recover center pavilion for this campus that provides residential treatment services and a sober living campus for those dealing with drug and alcohol addiction.
We worked with the architects and engineers working on upgrades to the campus with Silver Petrucelli and Associates to have this new custom log pavilion match with other upgrades happening at the same time with new buildings and other upgrades to the facility.
Kent, Connecticut is a town on the western edge of the state in Litchfield County. Kent is on the border with New York state. The town had a population of 3,019 during the 2020 census and is part of the Northwest Hills Planning Region which had about 112,000 people in during 2020. It is about 86 miles north of New York, New York.
Romtec recently worked with Silver Petrucelli, the architect, and Pustola & Associates, as the contractor, for the design and supply of a custom log pavilion for an addiction recovery facility in the High Watch Recovery Center project.

Recovery Center Pavilion
The High Watch Recovery Center is an accredited addiction recovery center located near Kent Connecticut, near the Housatonic River and Kent Falls State Park. They are an “inpatient spiritual rehabilitation facility providing respectful and compassionate solace, allowing one to obtain the essential therapy and medical treatment to offset active drug and alcohol addiction”, according to the National Association of Addiction Treatment Providers. High Watch Recovery provides their patients with medical care to “repair brain damage caused by abuse of substances as well as diagnose and treat psychiatric disorders that may interfere with continued abstinence”. The Center has been serving the State of Connecticut for over 70 years. (“High Watch Recovery Center”, n.d.)
The center is the premier Connecticut detox center, while providing residential treatment and sober living campus for those dealing with chronic illness of drug and alcohol addiction.
The Romtec supplied pavilion is part of a larger campus project for the High Watch Center and will provide patients with a place to enjoy the peaceful nature of the campus during their stay. As part of the expansion and upgrades to the campus, there is a new a detox clinic, group room, and new kitchen/dining room and reconfiguration of existing spaces. A new large conference center for training programs, workshops and events. A silo was designed to capture the essence of the original farm. Fixtures, furnishings and materials such as reclaimed wood enhance the character of the buildings throughout the new and renovated spaces.
Detox Center Pavilion
Silver / Petrucelli + Associates is an architecture, engineering and interior design collaborative firm based in Hamden, Connecticut.
Pustola & Associates is a professional Design-Build firm with all the in-house expertise to plan, design and construct complex structures based in Naugatuck, Connecticut.
The pavilion is a custom log pavilion with log columns and wooden railings and covered 20’ x 18’ area. The roofing on the recovery center’s log pavilion continues the natural aesthetic with a cedar shake that features both FRX Fire Retardant Treatment and IKO StormShield for protection against fire and water/ice, respectively.
Sober Living Campus Pavilion
The pavilion was installed on the campus by Pustola & Associates and has provided the High Watch Recovery Center with a custom pavilion for all patients and guests to enjoy. In our Post Sales follow up with Silver Petrucelli and the High Watch Center, all parties were happy with the Romtec staff, offering, and the construction of the pavilion by Pustola & Associates.

Romtec designed the log pavilion to meet the specific needs of the High Watch Recovery Center and what they were looking for on the project. The project highlighted wood to go along with the upgrades and new buildings that featured reclaimed wood through the renovations. It blends seamlessly with the surrounding structures on the campus.

The pavilion adds a shaded space for patients, staff, or visitors to enjoy the surrounding outdoor space and nature. It provides shade, cover from the sun or rain, and wooden railings to create an enclosed space for everyone to relax.
