Kingman, Arizona – Scenic Highway Park Restroom

For this scenic highway park restroom, located along Route 66 in Kingman, Arizona, Romtec partnered with the city to supply a new restroom building that services a popular park for visitors along the highway. The scenic highway park restroom is at Lewis Kingman Park, where a farmers’ market, a food truck festival, and the famous Kingman Route 66 Fest is hosted each year to celebrate the history of Route 66 and the importance of it to the city’s history.

There are signs, restaurants, museums, and murals around Kingman that celebrate Route 66 with facts about the history, the significance to the city, and how the city was established. The city wanted to upgrade the park with renovated ramadas that have power, add more lighting, and construct a new modern restroom.

Romtec provided a 4-stall multiuser restroom that can accommodate visitors, large community events, and residential use. The restroom has a standing seam metal roof, split face exterior, and numerous vents for natural ventilation. The restroom fits seamlessly into the park and surrounding natural areas. We designed the restroom to accommodate larger events and visitors who frequent the park along Route 66, as the park has a dog park, along with fields, and picnic areas.

Kingman, Arizona is best known for its place along Route 66, the historic American highway. Kingman is located on the western edge of Arizona, near the California and Nevada borders. It is the county seat of Mohave County and was named after Lewis Kingman who was an engineer on the Atlantic and Pacific railroads. The population of Kingman was 32,693 at the 2020 census.

In Kingman is the Route 66 Museum located inside the Powerhouse Visitors Center. There are also the Mohave Museum of History and Arts in Kingman, bringing visitors from Route 66 through the town to enjoy a bit of history.

The town features a variety of scenes, murals, and signage about Route 66, including restaurants honoring the long-standing highway that is etched into American history.

Lewis Kingman Park Restroom Renovations

Lewis Kingman Park, named after the city’s namesake, went through some upgrades to enhance the park experience. The upgrades included two newly renovated ramadas with power, enhanced lighting throughout the park, a modern restroom facility, and a new playground behind ramada three.

Lewis Kingman Park features a picnic area & grills, a multi-purpose field, large and small dog parks, and restrooms. A local farmers market is held at the park, along with a food truck festival and the Kingman Route 66 Fest.

The park is located along Route 66, making it a popular destination for travelers to stop, especially for those with pets, as there is a dog park within Lewis Kingman Park.

I have to mention that aside from the products Romtec supplies and the workmanship of the subcontractors (Ken and crew), I’m also very impressed with your responsiveness to issues – you’re a far cry from the usual taillight warranty.

You get what you pay for. Romtec provided the most perfect, seamless, flawless project I could have imagined. I would use Romtec 100 times over and will not consider any other options moving forward. You were able to beat my original budget and expectations. Everyone involved was great from sales to construction management, to the construction team themselves.

If I were to do this again, I would no doubt hire Romtec and its subcontractors to do the installation. Hindsight is always 20/20 and I learned a valuable lesson that I will hire Romtec’s certified installers to do the construction.

I would be remiss if I didn’t mention Dan Keagy (Romtec’s assistant construction manager). He in my opinion went above and beyond to solve our problems and problems that were not necessarily his or Romtec’s to solve. He is a great guy and great resource for Romtec. Overall, the biggest thing to me was the service after the sale. Romtec didn’t just make the sale and move on, but they supported us through a very long and arduous construction process.

Romtec was phenomenal when it came to service after the sale. They were available anytime there were questions. In addition, there were some issues with missing materials. Even though it was not Romtec’s fault for the missing materials, the were more than willing to send us the missing materials to get the project done. Romtec even sent out a representative to tour the site to give firsthand recommendations on how to proceed.
