The Huntington Central Park Phase 3 development included an amphitheater restroom for the City of Huntington Beach in California.
Romtec has worked closely with the City of Huntington Beach on the replacement of five restroom buildings in Huntington Central Park. The other restrooms replaced were Dog Park, Slater Avenue, Park Bench Café, and Kathy May’s.
Huntington Central Park features four playgrounds, a nature center, fishing, lakes, equestrian trails, a dog park, an exercise course, restrooms, and three restaurants. The park is 343 acres and is the largest city-owned park in Orange County.
A senior center and central library which features the largest children’s library west of the Mississippi is also located in the park. The park is popular for bird watching in the City of Huntington Beach. The park is about three miles from Huntington Beach which is bordered by the Pacific Ocean.
The restroom featured a Romtec 2047 Sierra ll with six single-user, unisex restrooms with a mechanical room. The restroom has stucco siding, a metal roof, ledgestone, and gable window poly.
GEM Construction was the general contractor who also installed the restroom building on behalf of the city. GEM Construction has installed Romtec buildings before for this project and they are a reliable contractor with high quality craftmanship.
The amphitheater restroom was purchased through a CMAS contract. The California Multiple Award Schedules (CMAS) streamlines the procurement process for state and/or local government agencies in a way which differs from the traditional bid process.
