McCandless Park in Milpitas, California was looking to add some additional buildings to their park to enhance the outdoor space.
The City of Milpitas is known for its great weather year-round and for having a variety of parks and green spaces. It’s located on the southeastern edge of the San Francisco Bay. Romtec provided four buildings at McCandless Park including a multi-user restroom, utility building, gazebo, and shed.
McCandless Park features a playground that is close to Mabel Mattos Elementary School so restrooms and a shade structure were helpful additions to make the park more accommodating.
The multi-user restroom featured Knotwood siding, split face & ground Face CMU block, metal roofing, an electrical room, and mechanical room. The multi-user restrooms feature four toilet stalls, two sinks, and drinking fountains near the entrance.
The four new buildings make the space an ideal place for the community to get outdoors, while being able to host parties under the gazebo. The storage for maintenance or utility equipment creates an accommodating place for the City’s maintenance staff.
IBI Group was the project driver as the architect on behalf of the City of Milpitas who is the end owner of the project.
McGuire & Hester was the general contractor of this project. RL Ziegenbein Construction installed the various buildings on behalf of the City of Milpitas. RL Ziegenbein is a contractor that has installed many Romtec buildings over the last several years.
