Allentown, Pennsylvania Pool Restroom Building and Admissions Office

For this pool restroom building and admission office, Romtec designed the buildings to serve Irving Pool, in Allentown, PA with six single user restrooms, a lifeguard room with restroom, and a pump room for pool operations. The pool restroom building and admission office also has an admissions building, with an aluminum roll up curtain concession window, where staff can operate the business of the pool for guests.

These unique buildings both have the same aesthetic even though they are different sizes. Matching seamlessly, the transition from the admission office to the pool is simple, and guests can enjoy the single user restrooms that are great for families. A lifeguard room and pool pump room are also included in the restroom building to provide space for all operations of the Irving Pool.

Pool Restroom and Operations Building

The City of Allentown purchased two buildings directly through PA COSTARS and put the “Owner Supplied” Romtec Buildings out to bid with the larger scope of the project. Our buildings are support buildings for the new community pool.

BKP Architects P.C. was the project driver as the architect for this Irving Pool development. BKP provides education facilities, libraries, community centers, government buildings, and urban design projects based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

The two pool buildings include an admissions office with an aluminum roll up curtain concession window with a stainless-steel counter. The other is a pool restroom building with six single user restrooms, a lifeguard room with a separate restroom, a mechanical room, and a pump room associated with the pool operations.

The large pool restroom building features a Fabral metal roof, exhaust fans, over the door vents, gable windows, CMU ground face concrete block wall, ridge windows, American Laminators glulam ridge beams, Steelcraft doors, Hager door closers, Kohler toilets, Proflo lavatories, Haws drinking fountains, Lithonia lighting, and Eaton circuit breakers.

Mohawk Contracting and Development installed the building on behalf of the City of Allentown for the pool project. Mohawk Contracting & Development LLC was founded in 2016 to serve the Lehigh Valley, providing General Contracting and Project Management Services.

Pool Restroom and Lifeguard Building

This pool restroom building and admissions office building match seamlessly despite being different sizes. They utilize the same type of features and service the Irving Pool. Ss guests enter, they check in and can use the single user restrooms which are great for families, privacy, and security. Romtec also designed the restroom building to have space for a pump room, which is associated with the operations and maintenance of the pool. Combining these facilities into one building saves the City a lot of money in terms of materials and construction.

We worked with BKP Architects, the City of Allentown, and Mohawk Contracting and Development to deliver these buildings for Irving Park and Irving Pool in Allentown, Pennsylvania.

Working on this multi-building project brought greater collaboration and the same aesthetic across the buildings to maintain the design. This also transfers over to maintenance and upkeep of the buildings.

The pool restroom building and admissions office work together to operate the Irving Pool in Irving Park and came together to help with the business operations of the pool, while serving guests with a beautiful space to enjoy this great outdoor resource in Allentown, PA.

I have to mention that aside from the products Romtec supplies and the workmanship of the subcontractors (Ken and crew), I’m also very impressed with your responsiveness to issues – you’re a far cry from the usual taillight warranty.

You get what you pay for. Romtec provided the most perfect, seamless, flawless project I could have imagined. I would use Romtec 100 times over and will not consider any other options moving forward. You were able to beat my original budget and expectations. Everyone involved was great from sales to construction management, to the construction team themselves.

If I were to do this again, I would no doubt hire Romtec and its subcontractors to do the installation. Hindsight is always 20/20 and I learned a valuable lesson that I will hire Romtec’s certified installers to do the construction.

I would be remiss if I didn’t mention Dan Keagy (Romtec’s assistant construction manager). He in my opinion went above and beyond to solve our problems and problems that were not necessarily his or Romtec’s to solve. He is a great guy and great resource for Romtec. Overall, the biggest thing to me was the service after the sale. Romtec didn’t just make the sale and move on, but they supported us through a very long and arduous construction process.

Romtec was phenomenal when it came to service after the sale. They were available anytime there were questions. In addition, there were some issues with missing materials. Even though it was not Romtec’s fault for the missing materials, the were more than willing to send us the missing materials to get the project done. Romtec even sent out a representative to tour the site to give firsthand recommendations on how to proceed.
