Scott Township, Pennsylvania Splash Pad Restroom and Utility Building
For this splash pad restroom and utility building, we provided two separate buildings to meet the needs of Scott Township Park as they added a new splash pad to the park. We worked with Scott Township and LSSE to design and supply the splash pad restroom and utility building to meet the specific needs of the park which also has a pool nearby.
This new restroom and utility building provide an aesthetically pleasing backdrop to the splash pad along with single user restrooms that are great for families, security, and privacy when changing after pool or splash pad usage.
Scott Township, in Pennsylvania, is a township about 7 miles southwest of Pittsburgh.

New Community Park Restroom
The Scott Township Park features the Scott Township Pool, a new splash pad, grass fields, a community center, an event venue, and a playground. There are baseball fields and tennis courts at Scott Township Park.
LSSE was the project driver and engineer for this project. They have brought 2 projects to Romtec, but this is the first one that has been purchased. Lower Hamilton Park is the other project that LSSE brought to us, also in Pennsylvania. LSSE is a civil engineer and land surveyor with its headquarters in Coraopolis, PA. They are one of the largest engineering teams in the region.
Scott Township is a first-time customer. The Scott Township added a splash pad area, close to the pool and needed a restroom facility to accompany the splash pad and pool.
LSSE was hired by Scott Township for the development of a new splash pad and restrooms to an existing park.
Romtec provided two separate structures for this project: an 8-PAK restroom building and a utility building to house the splash pad equipment.
The restroom building features eight single user restrooms and a mechanical room. The building has a Fabral metal roof over wood trusses, AO Smith water heater, Elkay high low drinking fountains with bottle filler, fiber board and batten siding over CMU concrete block wall, Eldorado Stone veneer, louvered doors, photocell under roof overhang, Kohler toilets, Proflo lavatories, and Lithonia lighting.
Splash Pad Utility Building
The utility building has a utility room, with a roll up garage door, and a specific space for the chlorine storage. The utility building was designed to match the restrooms with a Fabral metal roof, exhaust fan, Overhead Door roll up garage door which naturally ventilates the building, ridge vent, Intermatic photocell under the roof overhang, fiber cement board and batten siding over CMU concrete block wall, and Eldorado Stone siding, LCN door closers, Lithonia lighting,
Both buildings are seasonal structures and will be winterized when the splash pad is closed for the season.
Scott Township requested direct purchase options and LSSE contacted Romtec after seeing us listed on the PA CoStars Contract approved vendors list. The CoStars cooperative purchasing program allows registered and eligible Pennsylvania local public procurement units and Pennsylvania state-affiliated entities to leverage contracts established by DGS to cost-effectively and efficiently identify suppliers with whom to do business.
Splash Pad and Pool Building
Scott Township purchased the “supply only” for each building and intended to put the installation of the Romtec buildings out to bid with the rest of the project.
The new 8-Pak restroom and utility buildings are a great addition to service the new splash pad and pool at Scott Township Park. This park is a gem in the Scott Township community, and the new buildings, restrooms, utility building, and splash pad are a great addition to create more recreational opportunities for residents and visitors.
Being so close to Pittsburg but outside of the downtown area, Scott Township is responsible for its own parks and recreational activities and amenities. By adding this, they create a ton of value for their residents by being able to stay local in their town and recreate at Scott Township Park.
