Keller, Texas is a city in the Dallas Fort Worth metroplex with a population around 45,000.
Established in the 1850’s as a stop on the Texas and Pacific Railway, Keller is also known as Texas’s Most Family Friendly City with many parks and hiking trails.
Overton Ridge Park is a 19.4-acre park with a playground, pavilion with picnic tables, a natural area, hiking trail, and basketball court.
Purchased in 2008, the City of Keller wanted to develop 11.4 acres of land adjacent to the park to create a future community park. The new restroom is part of the development of that purchased land that included a new playground, pavilion, shaded seating areas, and parking.
Romtec provided the design and supply of a new restroom that features two ADA unisex restrooms, a mechanical room, split block siding, a metal roof, and roof overhang.
The restroom was purchased as a “Turnkey” project through the BuyBoard National Purchasing Cooperative and includes similar finishes as the Bear Creek Restroom Project with the City of Keller, Texas. Romtec also worked with the City of Keller on the Keller Smith Field project.
The restrooms are a part of a larger project that was bid out. Dunkin Sims Stoffels, Inc was the landscape architect as part of the larger project.
The playground is the Texas city’s first fully inclusive playground designed for children of all abilities.
Green Scaping was the general contractor while North Tennessee Constructors LLC was the installing contractor of the restroom building.
