Romtec provided the design and supply of a waterless restroom for the Point No Point County Park in Hansville, Washington. Charles Wilkes named this muddy shoal after a similar landmark located on the Hudson River in New York. The park is home to the oldest lighthouse on the Puget Sound that opened in 1879. The lighthouse was manned until 2006 when a modern rotating beacon replaced the need for a manned station. Today, visitors to the park can stay overnight in the lighthouse keeper’s duplex that is adjacent to the lighthouse. The Romtec vault restroom design matches the lighthouse and residence buildings, offering white lap siding and red shingle roofing. The specific style of roofing had been discontinued, but Romtec sought out and found a supplier with enough material to complete this building. These matching buildings establish and maintain a common theme throughout the park and keep visitors focused on the main buildings. Additionally, since becoming a member in 2009, the lighthouse is now the headquarters of the United States Lighthouse Society.
