Fontana is a city in San Bernardino County, roughly 45 miles east of Los Angeles. Only 13 miles from San Bernadino, Interstate 15, Interstate 10, and State Route 210 all run through the City of Fontana. Additionally, not far from the city is Mt. San Antonio which has a trail system with some amazing views.
The City of Fontana has a population above 212,000 people, making it the 21st largest city in the state of California. In the last 20 years, the city has grown by almost 100,000 people thanks in part to several large residential developments.
The Auto Club Speedway is a large racetrack with grandstands that hosts a NASCAR event in Fontana.
Romtec has worked with the City of Fontana on restroom buildings before at Central City Park, Martin Tudor Aquatic Center, and Shadow Park.
Therefore, when it came time to develop a large multi-user restroom and concession building for the South Fontana Sports Park, the City of Fontana and BLMA, Inc. came to Romtec. BLMA is the landscape architect for this project and wanted to do the same thing they did for the Central City Park Project.
BLMA is a landscape architect based in Corona, California.
South Fontana Sports Park is an 18-acre public park with four artificial turf fields for soccer or football, sports lighting, a restroom/concession building, two storage buildings (also by Romtec), a playground, exercise equipment, shade structures, path lighting, a parking lot, and new landscaping.
These buildings were purchased directly, as “turnkey” buildings, and Romtec provided the installation of the three buildings with coordination of the general contractor on the overall project.
The multi-user restroom and concession building features a men and women’s restroom, mechanical room, storage, and employee locker room, along with a concession room that includes a concession window. The restroom building has a metal roof, CMU concrete block wall siding along with a stone veneer, ridge, and gable vents.
The two storage buildings feature CMU concrete block wall siding with a stone veneer matching the restroom/concession building, metal roofing, and a roll up door.
This restroom and concession building along with the two storage buildings for the City of Fontana at South Fontana Sports Park was a huge success. The park is a great asset to the community for outdoor recreation and the Romtec buildings match the surrounding landscape of this new sports park.
If you have a need for a restroom/concession building or storage buildings contact Romtec as we can provide the design, supply, and installation of these structures with a quick turnaround.
